LUX PARTUM • Behind the Scenes of the interactive light installation
With LUX PARTUM, Lighting Designer Chris Moylan and his friends have found his very own answer to the Covid-19 pandemic. With the interactive light installation LUX PARTUM it was possible to control a complete professional lighting rig to the soundtrack by Producer & DJ Paul van Dyk via a web interface on lighting.stream. EventElevator got the chance to experience the artwork live to learn more about the implementation of the inspiring installation.
Chris Moylan's artistic lighting concept is an absolute collaborative project. Matthias Schöffmann (Depot-Zwei) took over the programming in the team and was Head of the Backend magic. Andreas Schindler's (Big Tennis) focus was the development of the visual content. Lars Murasch (Murasch And Sons) supported the team with equipment and took care of the technical implementation.
• The installation was installed by the technical service provider TLT EVENT.
• The Motorwerk Berlin created the perfect spatial framework for the project.
• The light installation is mainly based on ROBE Moving Lights, which the Czech company made available to the creatives for their art project. The lighting design is based on 20 ROBE MegaPointe and 20 ROBE Pointe which were installed on the left and right at fixed positions on the in-house rig structure. In addition, 14 powerful ROBE Tetra2 bars are used, which are positioned one above the other on the sides of the LED screen in the center.
• The Friedrichstadt-Palast Berlin also kindly supported the project with two ROBE MegaPointe.
