This is a basic introduction to networking, following on from previous Level UP courses which covered the OSI model. During this class, students will learn about the relationship between an IP-Addresses and the subnet mask and why it is significant. The presentation will introduce the concepts of TCP and UDP communications and how this relates to AVoverIP. The presentation will also explain the difference between unicast and multicast, along with a look into practical issues when designing an AVoverIP network. Also covering aspects such as IGMP, blocking networks and the use of PIM to help ease network limitations and cost issues when streaming to large networks.
