FAIRFAX, VA — May 2, 2016 — InfoComm International®, the trade association representing the commercial audiovisual industry worldwide, is pleased to announce that Luke Jordan, CTS®-I, Service and Small Systems Manager for Electro Acoustics Inc., has won the CTS Holder of the Year Award. Jordan will receive his award in a ceremony preceding the keynote address at InfoComm 2016 in Las Vegas, held June 4-10.
InfoComm's CTS Holder of the Year Award was first given in 2015 to recognize a Certified Technology Specialist™ who demonstrates a commitment to excellence in the audiovisual industry. For more than 30 years, InfoComm has administered the CTS program, which is recognized worldwide as the leading AV professional credential and accredited by the American National Standards Institute.
"Not only is Luke Jordan a model for the importance of industry certification, he's a leader in implementing performance standards to benefit clients," said David Labuskes, CTS, RCDD, Executive Director and CEO, InfoComm International. At Electro Acoustics, Jordan spearheaded a cloud-based application that draws from ANSI/INFOCOMM 2M-2010, Standard Guide for Audiovisual Systems Design and Coordination Processes and ANSI/INFOCOMM 10:2013, AV Systems Performance Verification. "InfoComm is proud to recognize Luke with this year's CTS Holder of the Year Award," Labuskes said.
Jordan was the first Electro Acoustics employee to receive CTS certification since the Fort Worth, Texas, company was founded in 1984. Other employees followed his lead. When Jordan earned his CTS-I, the company's systems designers pursued CTS-D certification. Today, Electro Acoustics is an InfoComm-accredited AV Provider of Excellence (APEx). APEx is a recognition program for AV integration and design firms that set high standards for training and certification and meet their clients' needs by delivering exceptional solutions.
Jordan said certification has been important to the success of Electro Acoustics. "It's common to see a requirement that the lead installer be CTS-I or the design engineer be a CTS-D," Jordan said. "We've been on projects where there has been a requirement to be an APEx company, as well."
Each year, InfoComm International recognizes outstanding AV professionals for their contributions, leadership and commitment to excellence. In 2016, the InfoComm Awards Committee, a panel of volunteers, received nominations from across the AV industry and named winners for the Mackey Barron Distinguished Achievement, Adele De Berri Pioneers of AV, CTS Holder of the Year, Educator of the Year, Women in AV and Young AV Professionals Awards. The Harald Thiel Volunteer of the Year Award is bestowed by InfoComm staff.
