CTS-I Prep: In-Person Training at InfoComm 2025

CTS-I Prep can help ease your nerves and boost your confidence before you take the CTS®-I exam. Through this course, you will practice your test-taking skills and focus on critical areas of the exam you need to develop comprehensive a study plan.

Who should take this course:

  • Current CTS holders
  • Has a minimum of two years’ experience in audiovisual installation

Prerequisites:

It is strongly recommended that students have in-depth knowledge of AV math or have taken AVIXA’s AV Math Online.

Course features:

This three-day instructor-led classroom course is eight hours per day. Additional evening work may be required.

  • Explore the CTS-I exam format and review critical areas of the exam
  • Examine content areas and aspects on the CTS-I exam content outline
  • Review pre-installation activities, pulling cable, mounting substructure, installing and verifying AV systems
  • Home in on the areas you need to develop
  • Prepare with question drills
  • Discover test-taking strategies to help you create a study plan

Completion of this program in no way guarantees participants will pass the CTS-I exam, nor will this program cover all the topics listed in the exam content outline. By registering for this course, you are not signing up for the CTS-I exam. The CTS-I exam must be applied for, paid for, and then scheduled separately at a Pearson Vue testing center.

Paul Streffon

aul Streffon, Senior Staff Instructor/Technical Advisor for AVIXA, has more than 35 years of experience in the AV industry.  He has worked in many different areas within the industry: production, system design, installation, sales, marketing, management, and education. Most recently Paul was Director of Sales for tvONE, Inc.  He was National Sales Manager for Digital Processing Systems and a regional technical supervisor for Sony Electronics.  Streffon holds two degrees, an M.B.A., Management and Business, and a B.S. in Broadcast Electronics.  He also earned an FCC Commercial Operator license. Paul is an AV volunteer for his local church community.
