Diversity Council Spotlight - Kim Lonas
Meet Kim Lonas, A Boricua Jefa who spearheads initiatives to bring fresh talent to the AV world.
As HR Director at Stampede Presentation Products (Now Exertis), Kim developed Leadership AV programs to encourage Jr. and Sr. women in college to consider a ProAV career. (Next program starts October 22nd.) She also was a Junior Women’s Crew coach (rowing) with multiple state champions and national showings.
Kim worked on our Education Committee to help create the #AVIXA Mosaic Scholarship and is leading the initiative for the creation of our new AV Diversity survey that will be launched this year. Additionally, as a Co-Founder of The Regent Group staffing firm & Co-Chair of the Western NY #AVIXAWomen's Council, she is truly a Champion of creation and change.
Kim knows overcoming challenges can be difficult just like when she overcame racial adversity and cancer (3-year survivor), but like a Boss, she always deals with them head-on and shares words of wisdom & encouragement to others.

Charmaine Torruella is the Global Services Manager at Verrex, and Chairperson for the AVIXA Diversity Council. Charmaine’s 18-year career in both IT and AV, along with her Jamaican and Cuban heritage and achievements as a single working mother, put her in the unique position to galvanize and champion the AVIXA’s diversity initiatives.
