Sales Rep

Sales representatives are the connection between a company’s products or services and new or potential customers. Successful sales reps have a deep understanding of their product or service and how it fulfills their customers’ needs. Companies usually provide training to their sales people. Sales representatives cultivate relationships. They may work for manufacturers or distributors who sell products to the industry, or they may sell services like installing and integrating systems, designing AV systems, or creating content.

Sales people manage clients in a territory. They identify potential clients, nurture relationships to learn about new opportunities, and work towards sales goals for their teams. Sales people who work on more complicated jobs often work on teams with AV Designers, technicians, and others to make sure that job proposals that they present fulfill the client’s specifications, and that prices and timelines are competitive.

Many companies have various levels of sales roles, so it's common to move up as one gains experience.
